Ode to “Picasso Baby”: Jay-Z host First Art Show (VIDEO)

Art in it’s purest form. The evolution of Jay Z as an artist is close to that of royalty (Hence, Watch The Throne) that is surpassing the standards of the times we are living in. Jay Z has changed the rules only like a king can from industry standards, album sales and now truly illustrating to us what his medium is: Art.

The Pace gallery in New York hosted the event with a wide spectrum of invites to experience Jay in his purest form. Actors, Fashion designers, Models, Dancers and just regular patrons of art were amongst many able to participate in this once in a life time video.

Jay Z gives us a performance that is provocative and sovereign as he intimately performs “Picasso Baby” to various artist  from all mediums. The song is off his most recent (and probably most groundbreaking album) Magna Carta: Holy Grail, which eludes to the famous abstract artist. It took Pablo Picasso many years to get recognized in comparison to Jay-Z, who has been the self-proclaiming king of New York for years and now steadily celebrates his artistry in its purest form… with other artist. Enjoy.
